Former BLAZE Guitarist STEVE WRAY Explains His Departure

September 21, 2004

Former BLAZE guitarist Steve Wray has commented on his decision to leave the group.

Writing to the band's official forum, Steve said, "My decision to leave BLAZE has not been one taken lightly and it is with a 'heavy heart,' in some respects, that I leave. There are many reasons for my departure too many and varied to post here but ultimately I decided that it's time to move on and try something else.

"I would like to make it abundantly clear that I have not given up on music and I am if anything more revitalised and ready to rock then I have felt for at least two years.

"I would like to thank [BLAZE manager] Neil for his statement regarding my leaving the band but would also like to make clear that the reason I am no longer in BLAZE is not because I am 'unable to do' the forthcoming dates which is implied in the statement. The simple truth is that at this point in time I choose to no longer be involved with BLAZE and therefore I am not doing the dates."

Joining mainman Blaze Bayley (ex-IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) in the group's new touring lineup are bassist Nick Douglas (DORO),guitarists Oliver Palotai (ULI JON ROTH) and Luca Princiotta, and drummer Daniel Loeble (RAWHEAD REXX).
